Hi Glory! I'd be happy to explain this. A while ago we did a powerlifting total and established 1-rep maxes for the back squat, the bench press, and the deadlift. Our programming in the coming months is going to put consistent effort into the basic lifts at high weights, with strength WODs (SWODs). Twice a week, we will do 3 sets of 5 squats. Same weight for each set. Today is the first day we are doing it, and I recommend that you start with NO MORE THAN 75% of your 1-rep max (1RM). Thursday we'll do another 3x5 squats (same weight). Next Monday, we'll add about 5 pounds and do it again. Every week, add 5 lbs until it gets very hard, then add 2.5 lbs (if you have the ability to add 1.25 lbs per side). Besides the squats, we'll press, bench press, and deadlift once a week.
This is a linear progression strength program. It will get extremely difficult in a manner of weeks, so definitely err on the side of starting light. It's OK if it feels ridiculously easy today. You will make very impressive strength gains with this system if you just stick with it and make consistent small increases every week.

After your SWOD. Recover and then hit the metcon WOD hard.

Stay in touch and let me know how it's going. Stay safe over there!
