.
Game on – As I promised, we’ve registered Landstuhl CrossFit and Combatives Facility as an Affiliate in the CrossFit Games Open, and we are inviting everyone within commuting distance to compete for the title of World’s Fittest Athlete. If you are not an American Forces ID card holder, please contact us to coordinate.
.
CrossFit HQ will announce the Open Qualifier workout each week for six weeks starting this Tuesday March 15th. The workout for each week is announced each Tuesday at 17:00 PDT (Pacific Daylight Time) and all competitors have until the following Sunday at 17:00 PDT to perform the workout and enter their results online. We will be able to therefore post it first thing Wednesday morning (I don’t mean 2am people, but as soon as I can get it up).
.
You may have to cancel other weekend plans
The CrossFit Games is the World’s Premier Test to find the fittest man and woman on earth. Fitness is all about work capacity. It’s strength AND endurance. It’s speed AND balance. Every year every event in the CrossFit Games is different. You never know what will be required. In 2008 you had The Hill. In 2009 you had The Spike Drive. In 2010 you had Ring Handstand Pushups and the 12 Foot Wall. What’s coming in 2011?
.
Anyone can compete in the CF Games Open Qualifier. Anywhere. If you’re close, you are more than welcome to hang with us at LCCF. Even if you hadn’t planned on competing, this is an opportunity to see where you are ranked for overall functional strength on a world-wide scale. You may even score some bragging rights – find out whether you have functional competence or

functional dominance

But don’t let the fact you aren’t competing keep you from showing your face – you can plan on 6 killer weekends hanging out with friends, meeting lots of new fun people, getting rocked by Drake’s loud crazy music, and witnessing the Open WODs getting hit the way they were meant to be hit. If you still have your voice by the end of the day, well, you’re just wrong.
.
Here are the Steps to Qualify:
1. Register here as an athlete for the CrossFit Games.
2. Contact us As Soon As Possible or at least 24 hours in advance so we’ll be expecting you
3. Show UP! LCCF will host athletes for the Open Qualifier from 1000 until 1600 on the following dates:

  • Sat 3/19
  • Sat 3/26
  • Sat 4/2
  • Sat 4/9
  • Sat 4/16
  • Sat 4/23

CrossFit Games Open Competition Rules are found here
.
Here are LCCF’s Rules:

  • Athletes will warm up on their own before their heats. All athletes will be briefed on ranges of motion, rep/no rep requirements, and scoring prior to their workout, and will complete their workout under the supervision and judging of LCCF coaches.
  • Our coaches are top notch and will be briefed beforehand on judging and specific WOD requirements to insure consistency. Their word is final.
  • As folks register and we can gauge likely attendance, we will be able to put out a schedule of heats, so that your waiting time is minimal. Stay tuned to this website for the weekly WOD and other Open Qualifier updates.
  • We’re free for everybody. And we are also free to exercise our right to kick your ass out if you get argumentative with our judges or in some other way become a public nuisance (not that we expect that to happen….just sayin’).

Questions? Please don’t hesitate to ask!
.
You’ve got to check out the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games “What are the CrossFit Games” video. The CrossFit Games are fitness competitions like you’ve never seen before: athletes facing the unknown and the unknowable, and

persevering

CrossFit videos and online athlete profiles treat you to competitors’ background and performance statistics – okay the average Joe has a long way to go to equal any of their herculean feats of strength, but shit, they started out just like us. And therein lies the big draw – these are regular people who made a commitment to training.
.
Think you are fit this year? Prove it. Or get inspired this year, and give LCCF the opportunity to prepare you for 2012.
