Pose Running: a short overview

Pose running enthusiasts say the technique improves your speed, decreases your rate of injury, and enhances your enjoyment allowing you go further with less effort. Many professionals agree & the fact that the technique has spread like wildfire seems to speak for itself.CrossFit pretty consistently supports techniques that actually work, and has endorsed Pose. The CF Journal offers a free but brief intro. Kevin Hughes at CrossFit Endurance advises that the adaptation phase of altering your old technique (termed the neuroadaptation phase) is the hardest. He gives his CFE athletes 4-6 weeks to get used to the form, before he expects their speed to even begin increasing. Even afterwards “holding pose” form remains a challenge even for those who perform regular drills. Starting your transition to pose slowly (as if you were beginning running again) is critical in order to avoid common achilles/calf soreness and injury.
.
Here is a worldwide forum for Pose technique which is run/endorsed by Dr. Nicholas Romanov, the developer of Pose, which will give you a good idea of some of the common problems experienced as well as some good solutions. Be sure to check out the forum and look at the Pose drill videos (it’s a sticky thread in the “Pose Running Technique Forum” category). There’s some excellent informational videos, drills, and demos taught by Dr. Nicholas Romanov available in the CrossFit Journal, but none are free of charge.
